The overzealous
hands of the past leadership have undone the benevolent will of the people and
the stench of their incessant corruption has boiled over to the precipice of
change. The mayoral seat has again and again presided over failed promises of
the change the residents of Perth
Amboy have yearned for a long time. The gnawing desire
to inject a fresh face of hope and certainty about the destiny of this great
city through hands trained on success and delivery has finally beckoned. In
Nicholas J. Pirro, fellow residents, there never was an opportunity to get it
so right, and never were the residents of Perth Amboy so poised to making a
defining decision informed by the belief in sound leadership benchmarked on
prosperity. And now ladies and gentlemen, I rise to the gracious challenge of
embodying these dreams and aspirations of what should be and represent fully
the city we want.
Nicholas J. Pirro
believes in the people of Perth Amboy
as much as they believe in honesty and truth. Born some 31 years ago in New Jersey, I have
achieved what many of my peers in this race regard only as exceptional. My five
year stay in Perth Amboy
has borne fruitful endeavors towards the advancement of this city. The humility
and belief in the possibilities in this city continue to inform my motivation
to seek opportunities in various areas that are key in service delivery. As an
applicant for both the Urban Enterprise Zone and the Business Improvement
District Advisory Boards, I aspire to better the well being of this city and
cater for the immediate concerns in rising property taxes and improvement of
health in public health institutions. The perennial problems suffered in the
hands of the present administration which has toyed with grave issues like
unemployment, terminal HIV/AIDS and other venereal diseases must be stemmed
right from the bud.
Every hard working person knows that it takes
sheer effort to rise above partisan interests and stand tall in the wake of
seemingly insurmountable odds. A man of the people is not one because he proclaims
so but one easily displayed by the things he does and aspires to do for the
people and with the people. My efforts lie with the people joining the Platelets
for Perth Amboy blood Drive at our Raritan Bay Area YMCA. The relentless zeal to
serve the great people of Perth Amboy will yield in efforts to join the United
States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 43 as well as work together in support of
the
Hands to Japan and Pacific Lands Relief Efforts Fund. In this, the
receptive mark of this society will go down in history in making good the
plight of neighbors in distress as an embodiment of this society.
The mudslinging
politics full of corruption and barren promises should never again capture our
attention. Vas and his constituents have no room in the current dispensation
because the high unemployment rates, escalating STD and HIV and AIDS rates, and
drug abuse speak against them. When we learn from our mistakes, we become wiser
and hardly repeat the same mistakes again. The people of Perth Amboy demand a leadership that is free
from self-corrupting conceit and deception. We have seen the same trend again
and again in the leadership of Diaz. The role models to steer the revival of
hope in our administration begins now, in Nicholas J. Pirro. The time of laying
facts on the table about how resources are used is now. The scourge of AIDS and
STDs need immediate redress through public education and setting up of
rehabilitation centers to help drug abusers cope and lead normal productive
lives. A creative and innovative leader will oversee the transformation process
of our society to reduce high unemployment rates, a possibility Pirro hopes to
make happen with the help of more volunteer and outreach programs, given your
mandate.
Nicholas J. Pirro is
your next door neighbor, warm-hearted, and a regular in downtown business
circles be it the mall or bank along State
Street or even whiling at the Water Front. In
tendering my candidature to be your next mayor, the very opportunities in us
the people, our culture, and local business stand a fair chance to prosper once
again. Empowerment of the people is a matter of urgency because the
contributions of everyone count in creating ample atmosphere for businesses,
service delivery, employment, and education. The elimination of redundant projects
like Delaney and Movie Theatre and conversion of old Municipal building into a Historical
Museum would not only save taxpayers money but also aid in income generation
and creation of employment. Hence, there remains an opportunity to mend the
waywardness of our leaders and endorse policy changes to help heal the rot in
this city. In this, the duty and responsibility solely rests on each one of us
in choosing to vote out bad leadership and electing accountability, progress,
and transparency in governance.
In closing
remarks, Nicholas J. Pirro is the true leader Perth Amboy has been yearning for. I salute
your determination to close the doors of the past and open wide those of hope
and prosperity, and the unity of purpose to turn around the fortunes long run
down and neglected. Vote wisely. Vote Change. Vote Nicholas J. Pirro.
